HOW CHEMSOL GREW UP!

RALRUBE INC.
Ralrube was established in 1978 to formulate, manufacture, package and private label chemicals for car dealers and automotive aftermarket. In the first year of business, Ralrube realized six figure sales. Within three years, Ralrube had private-labeled 37 brands of rustproofing, paint and fabric sealants. In addition, Ralrube helped create marketing programs at the automotive OEM level. An array of products were private-labeled into automotive, aviation, marine and general industry markets.

In the early 1980s, Ralrube formed a joint company named Ralkem Inc. that developed a QPL plastic polish in accordance with Fed Spec PP 560B. The product is used to clean, remove light scratches and polish the plastic canopies of the F16. Since 1985, Ralrube and associate companies have supplied this product to the GSA and other customers. Expanding the business with the GSA and government, Ralrube soon offered hundreds of other military specification products, including paints, corrosion preventives, lubricants, adhesives, cleaners and waxes and polishes. In 1993, Ralkem was purchased by the owners of Ralrube. By 1998, Ralrube processed over 4,000 orders annually for the GSA. Many of the products were supplied in long term GSA requirement contracts. In 1999, Ralrube and associated companies purchased its current 10,000 square foot plant in Bridgewater, Michigan.

Ralrube also developed many proprietary products for the military such as rubber preservatives, polishes, tile adhesives, water treatment salt, and corrosion preventives. By the beginning of the 21st century, Ralrube had a number of listings on QPL specifications.

CHEMSOL IS CREATED.
In order to diversify the product capabilities of Ralrube beyond the GSA and DLA, Chemsol was created in 1992. The simple strategy of Chemsol was to sell the 600 plus military specifications to FBOs (Flight Based Operators), government bases and agencies, aviation and defense companies, and industrial companies involved in government work. Chemsol's mission was to provide any specification quickly, properly and with quality, with only a $50.00 minimum order.

Chemsol made many friends. Sherwin Williams embraced Chemsol and listed its products as a prime military specification source. In 2004, Chemsol had over 1,100 customers purchasing products in some fashion. Large customers included Boeing, Lear Siegler, Raytheon, Northrup Grumman and others. In addition, Chemsol developed a number of proprietary products as Chemsol 132, which is now specified on many military land vehicles. With changes in the military and the government distribution system, Chemsol found itself selling directly to many military bases. The aviation industry became Chemsol's largest market, with FBOs using Chemsol for its fast delivery and capabilities. With the evolution of the computor and internet, Chemsol became international and today sells to most parts of the world.

A NEW CENTURY AND WORLD - CHEMSOL STEPS UP!
As September 11, 2001 incontrovertibly changed the world, it also changed the way Chemsol conducted its business. As many of Chemsol's products are sensitive military and aviation products, Chemsol determined that quoting pricing to customers must be qualified and scrutinized, particularly in the international sphere. Today, Chemsol questions everyone whom it quotes and sells.

As 9/11 created security checks at airports, Chemsol's status as a hazardous packager and shipper was scrutinized by the FAA, air and ground shippers in unprecedented ways. All Chemsol's employees are now IATA/IMDG certified for air and sea shipments. Since 9/11, all products are generally packaged in UN containers and boxes, with rings and plastic bags. In 2004, Chemsol's QC system was certified for ISO 9001: 2000. With ISO certification, Chemsol imposes an intensely, elevated level of safety and quality for both employees and customers. Immediately after being ISO certified, Chemsol invited the DOD to audit its ISO system. In 2005, DOD approved the Chemsol ISO system.

Each day Chemsol strives to improve quality and efficiency of product offerings. At any moment, the consumption of every ounce of an individual product batch can be related. Chemsol's just-in-time inventory procedure has been enhanced in order to insure fresh product being sold, but also minimizing hazardous waste. All specification products are totally traceable to the military specification for each batch of product.

And this scrutiny has been extended to every aspect of Chemsol's business. Suppliers were examined and dropped if they could not meet Chemsol's rigorous standards. Some government business was pared because Chemsol and associated companies, determined that contract expectations could not be met in the new world.

After 9/11, the expectations of Chemsol's customers also changed. Customers became aware of the criticality of packaging, age of material and quality. Chemsol's growth and enhancements have been appreciated by old and new customers. And, customers invariably express gratitude to Chemsol for being a true "one source solution" for military specifications. For example, an FBO can secure a paint stripper, cleaner, surface pretreatment, primer, topcoat, marking ink, corrosion preventive, wax, and sealants and adhesives for maintenance of airplanes. Beyond its product capabilities, Chemsol provides the technical knowledge and support for its products at a level not provided by many competitors.

Chemsol's product experience and technical knowledge are constantly tested and held with respect. Over the years, we have clearly matured and made many friends. We, at Chemsol, realize that the trust of our customers is an awesome responsibility. As we provide products for airplanes and other critical areas, it has to be done right, or it is not done. Chemsol's word is its bond; it is that simple.
